I'm adding 10GBE switch to my network. It's the US-48 by ubiquity. It has 2 10GBE SPF+ ports. I'm reading that the Chelsio T520-so-cr is one of the recommended cards to use.

So my setup would be:

Ubiquity Switch spf+ connected to Chelsio T520-so-cr. Here is the card I plan to purchase.

Where I get confused are the transceivers? Like this:

Do I need one that is specific to my card or can I just buy a SPF+ to SPF+ cable like this and plug and play?

In theory, if the distance is short enough, the 10G card, plust a SFP+ cable that is supported by your UBNT switch should be all you need.

I personally have gone back to preferring Intel cards. but anything that is supported by FreeNAS should work.
