i'm new here and after endless quest of 5 days I'm here asking.
Is there anyone who can help me.
This week i assembled me NAS from some old parts.
Everything works fine but now the following.
In my search to find some parts i also found my old Eminent EM3980 UPS (Serial - no USB).
Freenas doesn't support my UPS, tried all available RUPS drivers.
One driver doesn't work, at least it show me some info when i use "upsc ups@localhost"
Driver is selected is "Various ups 1 (various) Generic TRACK model (genericups upstype = 4)"
There is one other driver which does work, but right away after selecting it my system sent me a email of low batt and shuts down while the UPS is powered.
Driver selected then is: "Fideltronik ups 1 Other Ares models (genericups upstype=19)"
In my opinion the information i get by "upsc ups@localhost" is missing some lines, right.
So i now use the "Various ups 1 (various) Generic TRACK model (genericups upstype = 4)" driver as the other mentioned driver shuts down the while the UPS is powered.
If I pull out now the NAS won't shut down but powersoff without shutting down.
This shouldn't happen, the UPS should beep and the NAS should shut down within 30sec as set in the UPS service menu.
I'm a total noob in Unix/Linux and there for i ask for some help.
I have a zip with linux drivers download from the Emininent website
Now my question is how do I install it and whether it makes sense to install it so i could get this UPS support.
UPS settings for my EM3980 (Eminent):
Thx in advanced
