Hello Team,
Need advice on what is the recommended practice to upgrade to 12.0-U5 and from what I read, here are my options:
2 Pools, ISCSI for ESXi VM's and Share Pool SMB, No Jails
Pre-work: Gracefully shutdown all VM's in the ISCSI Pool (Anything else I should be doing here to make sure the ISCSI targets are not in a hanging state?)
1. In place upgrade from 11.2U8 to 11.3U5 to 12.0-U5, backup config and VM's and all other data.
2. Fresh Install of 12.0-U5 Core or Scale
a. Backup config from 11.3U5 (Is restoring a config from 11.3U5 supported on a fresh install of 12.0-U5 Core or Scale?)
b. Disconnect existing mirrored drives from both pools
c. Fresh install of Truenas 12.0-U5 Core or Scale on 2 new RAID1 SD drives
d. Shutdown Truenas and reconnect the mirrored drives and restart
e. Upload 11.3U5 saved config if this is supported OR import the volumes
Any advice is appreciated.
