So I just applied the latest 9.3 update. Looks like the drivers for P20 came out in this release. I have a SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SL7-F-O motherboard with a LSI 2308 SAS controller. I have been looking for the P20 firmware for this controller but haven't had any luck. Does anyone possibly know where that firmware could be downloaded. Also does anyone have some instructions on how to update it for this motherboard? Would be greatly appreciated :)

Have you done the procedure directly from FreeNAS with the sas2flash utility?

Works great from freenas if you have it firmware already installed.

Someone was sufficiently insane to flash the 2308 Controller on a running pool without restarting?

I'm in a situation where I really can't restart the pool, since there are VMs running.

Considering that certain aspects of the upgrade process aren't "applied" until a reboot, choosing not to reboot isn't an option.

Would you update your BIOS, then not reboot? ;)

Can you elaborate on how you did it please? My driver version is 15 and I'd like to update to 20 but using the shell in the webgui. Thanks.

Do not even think about it. That is a great way to brick your card.

Use tmux so that sas2flash doesn't die with the shell.

Also, what you need is the sas2flash manual, found on LSI/Broadcom/Avago's website.
