Unable to Thick provision a new disk on VM (Vspehere)

Good Afternoon All.
I am looking for some guidance on an issue we are experiencing.

We are unable to create thick-provisioned disks for a VMWare virtual machine. Only the Thin option is available.
We are using TrueNAS- Version 13.0-U5.2 and vSphere Client version 8.0.1.00300.
The datastore is mounted with NFS3.

I have done some research but cannot identify the root of the issue.

According to Vmware article
"Virtual disks created on NFS datastores are thin-provisioned by default. To be able to create thick-provisioned virtual disks, you must use hardware acceleration that supports the Reserve Space operation."

Is this something that TrueNAS supports?

On my datastore in Vsphere if I check under Storage > Configure > Hardware acceleration any host linked to this datastore says hardware acceleration is not supported.
But when the same hosts are linked to a VMFS6 datastore, acceleration is supported, so it has something to with the NFS.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Regards
Brendon
