TrueCharts VPN Addon Functionality

I'm trying to get a better understanding of the TrueCharts VPN addon functionality and how it is actually implemented. I took a look at the source code for the TrueCharts library and I see that the UI related to setting up the VPN addon is located in the questions.yaml file for each application. However, the part I can't figure out is where this collected data is actually used. I assume the VPN functionality is not provided by the actual docker container (cause that would require modifying each container) so I'm trying to figure out which component actually provides this VPN tunnel for the application to use? Is it something else created by the TrueCharts project, or is it something native in TrueNAS Scale? Any pointers in the right direction is highly appreciated. If you can point me to the correct source files that would be even better.
