H9ello guys,
I'm looking for some help here, I can't figure this one out. When transferring large files I seem to have a large drop in transfer speed. When copying large files (anything over 1GB), I get a large transfer hit consistently after 1GB.

The initial transfer before I hit 1GB of data transfer runs around 100MB/s, awesome right?
As soon as it's transfers around 1GB, those speeds drop to 1-5MB/s. This happens everytime, with every file.

My system consists of the following:
AMD Phenomn 960 X4 CPU
8GB DDR2 RAM
4 x 4TB disks
Single ZFS Pool

Any ideas? Am I short on RAM? I did not have this issue when I setup the array. I have also replaced the NIC card with another, with no better results

1- Are you writing or reading from the NAS?
2- Can you provide the output of zpool status?
3- Can you provide a screenshot of gstat when the transfer is 100MB/s and another when it's 1-5MB/s?

I will get some screens in the morning. I'm using smb in Linux and Windows right now. This happens both reading and writing

What motherboard are you using? Do you have a Realtek NIC? If so, start by replacing it with an Intel. The Pro/1000 CT costs about $30 USD.

My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 REV.2.0.

I have already replaced the onboard nic with a Pro/1000 nic. This yielding the same results as the onboard.
