Thinking building a new FreeNAS server for Media server

Hello all,

I am thinking about building a new FreeNAS server for all my Home network media. I am going to use Joshua's guide again to install all the plugins in one jail again unless someone knows a better way now. I will have it setup with Sabnzbd, Sickrage, CouchPotatoe and Transmission to handle all the media. I will share my Movies and TV Shows on network so all systems in house can access it. My old server is working but want to upgrade now since moving into new house and building new Home Theater and going to start using 4K and ATMOS/DTS X audio more.

So what version of FreeNAS should I use now? Old server running 9.10.2. Should I now install a smaller SSD into server for caching etc? Will this help me?

Also looking to moving to Plex or Emby for media server. I was in the past just using Kodi on clients and MySQL for a shared database.

So I am looking for suggestions and guide if any out there.

No reason not to use the current version.

It's unlikely to help unless you're planning on lots of RAM (at least 64 GB).
