Need an advice.
I'd like to use this M/B.
Does it work with SAS HDDs under FreeNAS 8.3.1?
It'll be great base for NAS with these bunch of SAS/SATA ports.

Cannot say for sure. There have been some reports of problems with users trying to use the SCU ports.

Based on that, I would suggest maybe looking towards the X9SRH-7F or maybe the X9SRH-7TF. But that's not a recommendation, just some random thoughts that those may be less likely to be problematic. You'll still want to see if you can validate compatibility with FreeBSD/FreeNAS before going that route.

Thank you for advice.
I read a lot and now I'm going to buy some HBA controller like LSI SAS 9207-8i.
It has drivers for FreeBSD and Linux and people say it has better performance than any cheap onboard controllers.
With HBA controller I need more simple M/B that looks like works fine in both FreeBSD and Linux.
Any additional advices appreciated :)

Unless you're in need of a monster server, you probably don't need socket 2011 and can instead get a less expensive socket 1155 system. The big difference is that the memory max on 1155 is 32GB. There's a sticky in the hardware forum with some more specific guidance.
