Does anyone know whether the SuperMicro monitoring software can be installed onto FreeNAS?
I assume if i install it under virtualbox that the virtualization would make it unreachable to the hardware sensors. I am mostly interested in the following:
  • Monitoring Functions
    - Hardware Monitoring (Fan speed, temperature, voltage, chassis intrusion, redundant power failure, power consumption, disk health, and memory health)
    - Software Monitoring (HTTP, FTP, and SMTP services)

Try it in a virtualbox jail and see. You don't want to mess with (i.e. install things in) the FreeNAS base system.

It's not even available for FreeBSD, is it?

- Hardware Monitoring (Fan speed, temperature, voltage, chassis intrusion, redundant power failure, power consumption, disk health, and memory health)
All this is available through ipmitool.
