Hi,

i successfully installed FreeNas, set everything including Volumes, users, windows shares, i can access folders (Datasets) in windows explorer and read/write/execute files using \\192.168.0.2 address.

However what i cannot do is to access server through windows explorer using path My Network Places/Entire Network/Microsoft Windows Network/Workgroup. I can see here my FreeNas however if i doubleclick i get error message \\Freenas is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact and bla bla bla...

Same message i got using Total Commander and same path. And also Filezila where connection is refused. Using Iphone application "PlayerXtreme" i could play music from server, watch movies etc; there are 2 icons, Freenas and CIFS Shares FreeNas. These CIFS Shares are accessible but Freenas is not accessible.

Can somebody help me on this matter? I tried all possible, reading, googling nut no luck. I have created guest user and 2 other users, no idea through which i am connecting so i can pplay my files (i think guest)

Many thanks in advance!
Martin

Bump...Any idea? Do you use method of connecting to your server through "My Network Places/Entire Network/Microsoft Windows Network/Workgroup" path? Or is it impossible?

Edit, forget it, i just solved it by mapping network drive so no need to use above path. On the other hand it is very strange to me that it doesn't work useing above path...
