SOLVED Snapshot CIFS shadow copy stopped working

I have periodic snapshots setup and had it set to 15 minutes and 2 weeks keep and could change files and then see the versions in windows via the file properties. This worked fine until I changed the snapshot schedule to 1hr and keep 4 weeks. Now I don't see any changes since I made this change. I do however see the snapshots in the snapshot list.

Which version of FreeNAS?

Did you try to restart the CIFS service ? That will regenerate smb.conf and pick up the new snapshot format.
(I need to find the time to finish this: https://bugs.freenas.org/issues/1235, it would also help in your case.)
