I have installed and used Freenas systems on other hardware without problems.

I have an old HP ML350 G3 with internal NIC, and SCSI disks in HARDWARE RAID 5 configuration.

On Freenas, it is configured as ZFS but it can only se one big drive in stripe configuration, is this normal?

Copying to the NAS is very slow, very could the problem lie? Is it because these are not SATA disks, network card is too slow or hardware RAID?

What I suspected, too little RAM and a crappy Realtek NIC.

thanks, I definately think it is the Nic. I have another system with the same RAM and all is fine.

Tell me something else, does Freenas work with SCSI disk well? Why isn't my ZFS is seeing 5 disks and see's only 1?

Note: using ZFS on hardware RAID is a recipe for disaster. See the warnings in the manual and/or search the forum.

Frankly your Gen 3 hardware is too old for FreeNAS 8/9.
