Not sure if I am missing something but I know other users are using the SiI3124 controllers in their systems. For some reason do not see the module load or attempt to load. I am using 8.3. The module in question is siis.ko . Any thoughts?

Do you have the exact model of your SiI3124?

SiI-3124 comes in TWO flavors: BASE BIOS and RAID BIOS

I remember FreeNAS only support BASE BIOS

Yeah.. I got nothing. That's very bizarre and I have no fix or idea how you might even try to fix it.

I remember now.

Make sure at least a HDD connected
Pay attention at the booting screen
If you see a display such: SATA RAID SiI 3124...
Mean you need to re-flash BIOS of the card to BASE BIOS, then it should work...

If you see SATA LINK... <-- I have not idea :)
