What do you mean by "doubling my hard drives spaces": going from 6x 2TB to 12 x2TB or going from 6x2TB to 6x4TB?

I have that same MB, 32GB of RAM (in hindsight 16 to many) and two pools: one of SSDs (2x240GB in a mirror) and one of HDDs (one vdev (Z2) of 6x3TB and and a second vdev (Z2) of 6x4TB(Z2)). Depending on workload you'll probably be fine. If you stick with WD drives, make sure you do not get SMR drives. There are a couple of threads hereabouts describing why not.
