Hello,

I just setup a new FreeNAS 8.2.0 server. I used 3 (3TB) hard drives and configured it as raidz1, that is what I see under volume status.

So I have two questions.

1) How can you see your current raidz level if using ZFS, is it via volume status.

2) If I'm using 3 (3TB) drives, do I have protection from 1 drive failure.

Thanks,

Mike

1) Not sure where you can see it in the GUI, but you could use the CLI: "zpool status"
2) If they are configured as raidz1, yes. However, your available space in a raidz1 configuration will only be around 5,6 TB (ca. 2x2.8 TB).

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to make sure that I'm protected from at least one drive failure.

Take Care,

Mike
