Hi there,

I built my FreeNAS system today... It's alive!

Right now it's just booting from a single drive, but I believe I saw some recommendations about having a flash drive for backup and another for upgrade. Does anyone else run this config? If so, do you keep the flash drives plugged in at all time? Or do you just keep one plugged in? Thanks!

Just keep one plugged in at a time.

You might want to put FreeNAS on the other ones, so you have it - if needed.

Another recommendation that goes along with this - keep backup copies of your configuration. You can create them manually using the webGUI or automate it with a cron job. If you want to do the latter, search the forum for information.
