This is just kind of a survey. I am relatively new to FreeNAS and I have been doing a lot of research. I feel that I have a pretty good understanding of good guidelines, and I have formed my own plan of how I want to provision for performance and backup recovery.
I am leaning towards a 10x (RAID10) array with 6TB Reds for a primary server, and 10x (RAIDZ2) array for a backup server with 4TB Reds.
Now, I am just wondering what you guys run for your primary and backup storage.
Please state detail of RAID type(s), size of arrays, size of disks, type of disks, and anything else you think adds better context.
