Yeah I was just coming here to ask about Plex after seeing the prices were going up. If I installed Plex in a jail, I could still use my WDTV and tablet to watch movies without them being transcoded by Plex correct? I just wouldn't use the Plex app/webpage? I would only want Plex to kick in if I was away from my home network.

I've never used Plex and was surprised by how much people like it. My WDTV has always done everything I needed it to (read: watch 1080p movies at home). But I've been thinking about getting the lifetime Plex Pass for a week or so, and now seeing that the prices are going up I may have to pull the trigger.

Plex doesn't work "with" WDTV. That is the two are exclusive of each other, but not mutually exclusive. You can definitely do both (I know someone that does) but you do have to setup your server appropriately for both to work.
