So, I freshly installed the Plex plugin from scratch a few days ago. When I was setting up the Plex settings for the first time, everything seemd fine. But when I returned a few hours later to sign in to my MyPlex account and add additional media, the Plex server GUI didn't load. I started further investigating the issue and ssh'ed into the jail and noticed I didn't get any connectivity to the outside except for my router and my FreeNAS host.
When I look at the Plex Media Server logs I see many of these messages:
Code:
Mar 16, 2014 13:52:33 [0x807782000] ERROR - Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 6
Mar 16, 2014 13:52:33 [0x807782000] WARN - Error issuing request to: http://www.plexapp.com/plex/blacklisted/2167b3f (6, Couldn't resolve host name) (Couldn't resolve host 'www.plexapp.com')

So, I checked if the jail has a default gateway and this is the output of my netstat -rn:
Code:

I have been searching for a solution to this for several hours now and have no more ideas on what to try. Can someone help me?

Is there a DNS server in the network? If so, is it's IP address set in Network -> Global Configuration?

Yes, the DNS server is set. Also, ping to a public ip adress e.g. 8.8.8.8 doesn't work from inside the jail.

Very interesting. Your idea worked perfectly well for fixing the reachability issue of the web interface. Thank you!
But still, I can't get any kind of internet connection from within the jail :(
