No Active volume?

I've just finished my build and have installed Freenas with no problems. However I've just gone through the steps of creating a volume, which all seemed to go ok. However,when I look in active volumes it states 'no entry has been found'?

I didn't get any error messages when creating the volume but it did seem to go through fast. I'm not sure how long it should take to create a volume but id say the progress bar was up for about 10 seconds.

edit: I've now brought the console screen up and I can see it's having problems formatting the disks. I attempted to create a volume leaving out the drive it gave me the 'Unable to GPT format ada0' with but I then got the same message but ada1 and then ada2..I suspect its most of, if not all of the drives.

What? are you on drugs?

On a side note, I'm currently wiping each individual drive with disk shredder. Only problem is it takes 4 hours per drive and I just want to start playing!
