Hello all,
I was finally able to passthrough my SATA PCIe card to my FreeNAS VM, all is well on that area. Now when I create a user, I can an error about username lengths...
"Usernames can be up to 16 characters long. When using NIS or other legacy software with limited username lengths, keep usernames to eight characters or less for compatibility."
What is NIS and how can I create a username longer than 8 characters? Looked around and could find a definitive answer. I only need about 10-12 charters so it's not like I'm trying to create super long usernames.
