N36L with 16GB

Just a note for anyone with an N36L (probably also N40L).

It appears that Kingston's KVR1333D3E9SK2/16G kit (two modules) works to bring the system up to 16GB.

Yes, I realize it's quite a bit of a price premium. You can find somewhat cheaper alternatives if you grab the Kingston specs and find similar modules, I'd guess.

WOW. That's actually a very big deal for those systems as they seem to be decent aside from being limited to 8GB of RAM.

If you toss a 5.25-to-4x2.5 bay adapter in them, and something like a BR10i, you can get some SSD's for L2ARC and ZIL and it could be cool.

I'd be so tempted to run ESXi on it if it supported PCI passthrough...
