mirroring a 4TB stripe to a single 4TB drive

Hi, I have been messing around with freenas for a few months and just made a forum account. I just loaded a freenas box and I'm trying to create a 4TB raid 0 with 2 (2TB) drives and mirror it with a 4TB i just bought for this reason. I tried to create the stripe with my raid card and mirror it in freenas, but freenas just broke the raid. Next I tried to just create a zfs volume but I can't mirror it just create an 8TB volume. I looked in replication but from what i saw its only system to system replication. Is that true, do i just have to make a second freenas system and replicate it that way, or is there a way to do it within 1 system? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You cannot do what you are wanting with ZFS or hardware RAID AFAIK. You could do 2 pools and do zfs snapshots/replication to the other pool. But mirroring is out of the question.
