I’m looking for any advice on the process of exporting and importing my ZFS pool from Xigmanas to TrueNAS. I’m not familiar with TrueNAS at all and my knowledge of Xigmanas is limited at best.
What I’ve done so far:
Many thanks!
Edit:
I may have succeeded, at least mostly.
I exported the pool using the Xigmanas GUI and then imported it using the TrueNAS GUI and I think all is well.
Just need to sort out the network side of things and hopefully it's up and running.
What I’ve done so far:
- Upgraded my motherboard to the Supermicro A2 in my signature.
- Managed to save the Xigmanas config on my old system, reinstall Xigmanas on the new system and load my config, successfully I think.
- System now seems to boot Xigmanas successfully.
- Export my ZFS pool and all data from Xigmanas in preparation for import into TrueNAS.
- Import pool into TrueNAS.
- Setup system properly so I actually use it this time. (Mainly for backups of other systems, photos, devices, storage of media, and remote file access with nextcloud or similar. That’s all I can think of at the moment.)
Many thanks!
