Mattermost alerts HTML formatted, but Mattermost renders MD only

I've set up the Mattermost integration for alerts etc. It works fine but it outputs HTML code which isn't rendered by Mattermost, so the message just displays with HTML tags 'n'all. Anyone else tried this? I couldn't find anything in the forums.
