SOLVED manually recreate homes shares

While doing some setup work, I accidentally deleted my homes share. So I recreated it as a dataset, and created the CIFS share, indicating it is a home share. It looks like the home folders for the users are set 775, so I think I messed that up somewhere. Is there a guide to check on what the proper settings should be for all homes related stuff?

apparently I needed to use Windows to correct the share permissions. all seems fine now
