Hi, first step, sorry by my english, but my natural language is spanish.

I have server supermicro chasis (16 bays) with controller 3ware 9650se-16. I read that this controller not work properly in freenas. I learn that i need an lsi 9210 / 9211 / or ibm 1015 flashed IT. Could you please tell me if some model is better than another. I lost in dozens of pages of data. In first installation I ll use 4tb hdd in 8 bays, then migrate to 8tb in the other 8 bays. I need only storage (backup), not plugins, not share, no torrent, etc

thanks

As long as the card is based on the LSI SAS2008 or SAS2308 chip, you will be fine. Some eBay sellers (theartofserver) will sell them pre-flashed and tested, but the process is not terribly difficult.

The least expensive SAS2008 cards I have found are the Dell PERC H200 and H310. Choose the card based on where you need the SAS ports to be located for your setup - the H200 is on the "top edge" of the card and the H310 has them on the "back edge"
