I have a problem with NFS and LDAP but it only occurs after a reboot, though not sure if it's a problem with my setup or a bug.

I have configured the server with LDAP directory service, and users accessing the shares must have accounts in LDAP as there are no local accounts for them.

Normally this works perfectly, except after rebooting the server when the users are denied access that they should have - such as denied write access to files they own or are group writeable.

Checking the logs I see this message repeated about 10 times shortly after the NFS service is first started:
Sep 10 15:48:06 myserver mountd[2340]: unknown user: myuser
Sep 10 15:48:06 myserver mountd[2340]: unknown user: myuser
Sep 10 15:48:06 myserver mountd[2340]: unknown user: myuser

This permission problem can be resolved by restarting the NFS service again after a reboot.

The server is currently FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201509022158 but had the same problem in previous 9.3 versions.
