iSCSI service wouldn't start

Ever since I rebooted my NAS, iSCSI wouldn't start. When I attempt to start the service from the GUI I receive the message
"The service could not be started."

I upgraded to FreeNAS-8.3.0-RELEASE-p1-x64 (r12825) but this didn't fix the issue.


Any ideas?

Too vague. What other information do you have? Hardware? What was your old version? When you say rebooted, did you reboot for any particular reason?

System -> Settings -> Advanced -> Show onsole messages in footer.

Reload the UI, then try starting up iSCSI and see if it gives you a more useful error message.

I found the issue, after the reboot /dev/ada2 became /dev/ada3 and that was not updated in the "Device Extents" section.
