Hello,
I was interested in building a very small and power efficient build for my storage need. Lately, E-350 board started to be rare (at least in my country) and I noticed that there is an intel NM70 solution that is close to the E-350 solution (PCIE, 4 SATA, 17W). I dig through it and it appears that there is NO SMART support.
I know that SMART is a set of reporting tools for the hard drive health. Does that means that I should avoid it for a NAS purpose? I believe yes, but I was wondering if people in the community have build a similar system and would like some feedback on it.
Thanks

PS: After I dug through intel chipset specs, I think the website I looked through (guru3d) where talking about the lack of support for "Intel® Smart Response Technology" by saying that it lacks of SMART, I hope I am right.

Intel Smart Response Technology is NOT S.M.A.R.T. It is Intel's SSD caching hybrid storage subsystem. Lack of SRT does not mean S.M.A.R.T. won't work..
