How to use coron/scripts to copy files from one location to another

Hi Guys,

I'm new to freeNAS and Linux and looking for some help and advise.
I need to make a script that will copy files from an FTP location to a storage location for access by other users. These users do not have access to the FTP location.

I will need the script to copy all files and directories once and then only copy the files that are updated/new.

I'm looking at cron and trying to work out how to get things setup.
