Hello all,

I want to upgrade my NAS. For that I already built a new System (bigger Case, more Prozessing power, more RAM, etc.).

Now I have read that I can "simply" pull my HDDs (6) from the old HW and put them in the new System!?

Is this right?

What do I have to do to do this successfully?
Are there any important things to do?

Hope someone cane tell me the exact steps!

Thanks a lot!

Cheers

Hello,

thanks for the reply!
That sounds really easy!

So I would do it like this:

1. Backup Config on old NAS.
2. Turn off old NAS.
3.Pull the HDDs from the old NAS and put them in the new NAS.
4. Turn on new NAS.
5. Import Volume via Manager.
6. Load config from old NAS to new NAS.
7. Reboot
8. Done

So just to make sure:

- I don't have to unmount or something the disks in the old NAS, bevore pulling them out?
- The order in which the HDDs are put in the new NAS does not matter?

Thanks again!

Cheers
