Hi guys,
I wanted to check with you before I start upgrade. Thanks in advance!
I have a ZFS RAID1 volume on two internal SATA 2TB HDDs.
I want to move data to a new 4 TB RAID1 volume.
My server (Proliant Gen8 microserver) has two USB3 connectors.
I thought of connecting both new 4 TB HDDs via USB3 and create a new RAID1 volume.
Then copy data to new volume, remove internal HDDs and put new 4 TB HDDs in internal SATA slots.
Qs:
Would this work?
Will FreeNAS recognize HDDs after they have been moved from USB3 to SATA?
And how do I copy data - with "zfs clone"?
Any caveats?
Again, thanks in advance!
