How long to test? (Hard Drive burn in test?)

Greetings,

How long should one test the hard drives during burn in? I have scoured the internet and found times ranging from one test (Single day) to a month of continous testing. So what do you all think is a good amount of time to test new hard drives?

I've just completed testing for a bunch of 14TB drives, following the said guide. Testing took some 10 days (a day for each SMART long test and eight for badblocks).

My general rule is however long it takes for a full run of badblocks, plus at least one long SMART test. With higher-capacity drives, easily over a week.
