how did buffalo manage do create such a simple dropbox connectivity?(pictures inside)

I bought a "LinkStation Pro Quad" from buffalo just to see how they manage their so called "cloud" services.
anyway the installation was easier than I thought it would be

Let's resume the story with photos:

This is the drive configuration under local network, all I have to do is assign a "buffalonas.com" name


and then go on buffalonas.com and enter the name I chose, after which it logs me in or asks me for a password if I chose one


that's about it. now I'm on inside my NAS which looks like this:


how did they manage to do this ? how can I replicate this ?
