I have just set up a new FreeNAS server with the following hardware
Pentium g630 @ 2.7 Ghz
Gigabyte B75M-D3H
8 Gig G. Skill
3 Seagate 1 TB 7200 rpm drives (consumer grade) in Raidz
I have done the basic tunings mentioned in the Docs and I am getting the following results (measured with Intel NAS Performance Toolkit) over a CIFS share.
Write 79.1 GB
Read 92.4 GB
My network performance (with iperf ) is 945 Mb.
The performance seems pretty reasonable but as always the speed freak in me would like to go faster. Just wondering if anyone might have any recommendations for tunings or upgrades I should consider.
