Can anyone give some basic pointers as to how I can get FreeNAS to become a VM in ESXi? I have ESXi installed and a VM created, pointed it to the FreeNAS ISO image and in the console I see:

Building the boot loader arguments
Looking up /BOOT/LOADER... File not found
Looking up /boot/loader... Found

then it bascially clocks with the spinning busy characters and never goes any further. Is there something special I have to do within the configuration when I define the VM? This is a very basic system running an Intel DQ77KB motherboard, Core i3-2120T, 16GB and a 500GB HDD (a sandbox as it were).

Thanks.

Take a look at that post. There is a link that might help you to install FreeNAS as a VM. Read the rest of the thread as a warning. ;-)
