I've been trying to perform a GUI upgrade from 8.01 to 8.02, but can't seem to make it work. FWIW, I couldn't get the upgrade from RC1 to 8.01 to work either.
- FreeNAS 8.01 is running on a 2 GB USB Stick
- I've turned off all the services
- I've tried using /mnt/tank and /mnt/tank/data as a temporary storage folder. The process creates a .freenas folder in the designated temp storage location
-The last entries I see in /var/log/messages are:
/bin/rm -rf /var/tmp/firmware
/bin/mkdir -p /mnt/tank/data/.freenas
/usr/sbin/chown www:www /mnt/tank/data/.freenas
/bin/ln -s /mnt/tank/data/.freenas /var/tmp/firmware
After that nothing happens, even if I leave it running overnight.
Am I missing something? Is the 2 GB Stick still not big enough? Is there a problem with my permissions?
It would be nice to perform a gui update because I don't have a monitor on my FreeNAS box, so I have to shut everything down, move it to another location to connect with a monitor before I can do the CD install.
