Grub rescue - unknown filesystem

Not sure what happened booted this morning and nothing came online so connects monitor and found this on screen. My knolage of commands is very poor so please bare with me. Used ls and hdd0 is my usb stick I think. How to resolve googling suggests grub is battered how to restore?

That looks like a corrupt boot device. What's your hardware and what hardware is your boot device?

Sorry forgot to include. Is a 16GB USB stick cruzer something or other. With two 2TB drives stripped with ZFS.
I know I can re-install and re-import datasets but was hoping I could just recover somehow.
