Hi all,
I am planning on building a FreeNAS8 install inside of an ESXi5 VM. I would like to utilize ZFS. I have a new 2TB SATA disk that I plan to pass through to the FreeNAS VM. I plan to build the VM with 1 vCPU and 4GB of storage on the datastore.
My question: Does the 6GB of memory recommendation still hold true in this case, even though I am only using a single drive (for now)? It would be nice to not have to allocate that much memory for FreeNAS, but I don't want to gimp myself either.
Thank you
