Will FreeNAS work on the LG NAS N1T1?

I have root access (via Tantalus' firmware) and the box is running Debian Lenny.

Nope, that device uses the Marvell 88F6192 chip so it won't run FreeNAS.

Is that because it's ARM? or just because of that chip?

It's because it uses the Marvell processor which is ARM, not Intel.
