Hi All,

My systems run VMware ESXi 5.5, most of my VM's are Linux Based and Microsoft VM's.
I come from a Netapp world and my company told to build a new system for our production environment i heard about the FreeNas system, i have no experience in the ZFS world.
So i have a few questions :

1. Is FreeNas able to be a HA failover automatic like in a Netapp System
2.Can i do a realtime replication for ZFS? will it impact my performance /?
3.Can i build a Hardware system with dual domain?
4.Is there a Support aggrement for this/? 24/7 ?

Hope i was clear and u could help me out,

Henry

1. no, you would need to talk to iXSystems about getting a TrueNAS instead
2. I don't think you can do realtime replication in FreeNAS, but it does indeed do ZFS replication
3. ?
4. See answer 1. FreeNAS is the free open source, community driven version of TrueNAS which iXSystems builds and supports.

Definitely, what you need is the commercial product, a "TrueNAS". These have the specifications you want, almost certainly at a price vastly lower than whatever your company was paying before.

Send email to sales@ixsystems.com.
