I plan on using some existing hardware as a NAS to serve media files to a couple media centers (XBMC) and workstations on my home network.

Motherboard: Asus P5wdg2 WS Professional (with SATA expansion card)
RAM: 4GB to start, upgrading to 8GB soon (8 is max supported with the mobo)
drives: 6 x 1.5TB SATA drives, boot FreeNAS from USB

My plan was to run a RAIDZ2 array across the 6 disks to give me ~6TB usable storage, shared via NFS.

I still need to confirm the hardware is supported by FreeNAS.

Otherwise, any suggestions/feedback/opinions are appreciated. I'm new to FreeNAS & ZFS, but have a good Linux background.
