ESXi+FreeNAS+OneHDD

Hi,
Just beginner with freeNas stuff. I'm making my virtual home lab with one host. I tried ESXi with PCI controller card for DirectPath I/O for FreeNas but my MB not supporting VT-d for this, so.... My option now is ESX with FreeNAS VM on it and one HDD just for freeNas storage + Scheduled backups to my home NetgearNAS box. That's should be fine? I need your opinion, or suggestions, until I will get extra host just for FreeNAS.

No. Don't use freenas in that setup.
