Hello,

Got a smart alert this morning via email: Device: /dev/ada1, Self-Test Log error count increased from 4 to 5

Attached is the smart export ( smartctl -a /dev/ada1) from that drive.

Here is the volume status screen, da1 is different drive.

One other thing, historically i was told that ID 5, 197 and 198 should all be zero values - in this case they are. I guess to further refine my question does anything else seem off?

Also for the da1 drive in the screen shoot, is that a big concern?

Yes things are off, you drive has been failing SMART Extended tests since at least 1575 power on hours (1347 power on hours ago).

I would replace the drive.

It's failing SMART tests, so RMA it ASAP.

That sucks.. 1500 hours the disk has been "not good" and just now taking action. That's like 2 months with a failing drive. :(

Thanks all, i'll get the drive replaced.

@cyberjock I didn't get an email alert until recently, is there something else i should be monitoring to catch that type of issue?
