Any help would be greatly appreciated, out of the array of 11 disks this is the only one having issues. Mind you the temperature have reached 40 Celsius for very short period. Precautions were taken to cool immediately.

If you can convince them to RMA it, I'd do it. It might be hard, though, since the SMART tests are coming up ok.

Highest recorded temperature was 45 degrees Celsius. Not ideal, but not exactly problematic, if it wasn't chronic.

The UDMA CRC error does indicate a transmission error, so you might have a loose cable or something, besides the internal problems. Nothing to worry about, but might as well reseat it next time the server's open.

Not strictly relevant to your question, but the Load Cycle Count is a little high for future long term health - and if the other 10 have similar counts a wdidle3 application might be desirable.

Okay, I will use the WDIDLE3 tool, I don't they will let me RMA but i will give it a go.

Also how are you able to interpret the SMART values for the temperature.

Read the #194, the second number (105) is the highest value ever reached, but u have to consider that the correct value is 150-105=45c
