Dell 2900 lots of hash symbols at boot - never seems to go beyond that?

We have a Dell 2900 booting from a San Cruzier. Freenas 8.03? It's been up and runing for 120 days now. I brought it down to install a second nic card for lacp to our Cisco switch.

When I brought the unit back up, we see the F1, F2 or Disk1 message. Pressing F1 and we get ####################################################################################### for a really long time.

Is something rebuilding, or is it just not booting? Willing to read documentation - I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

You shouldn't normally have to press F-anything. First thing I'd try is pulling out the card you just installed. If FreeNAS then starts working fine the NIC likely isn't compatible with FreeNAS.

If you hadn't rebooted in a loooong time, it's possible that the USB drive failed sometime since the last bootup. Once the system boots up everything is maintained in RAM, so you may not have known that the USB was bad.
