Current LSI SAS2 driver version?

I fell off the update train some time ago when the FreeNAS driver versions silently changed during a minor update. (On the plus side, my NAS has been rock-solid for years now.)

What's the current SAS2 driver version used by 9.10 and the upcoming 11? Is it P20?

If so, which firmware do I need on my SAS2116 controller? P20, or P21 due to LSI insanity?

Last I checked, there is no P21 firmware. You want P20.

Thanks, Eric. I got a little confused by the driver versioning issues. It sounds like the driver is P21, but the correct (and latest) firmware is P20. With iX's renewed focus on stability, do you think we can expect that future driver updates in the STABLE train will be documented?

How do you check HBA driver version in FreeNAS?

I believe that only shows firmware.

Oh, the driver. I misread that. That's a good question and I don't know the answer to it. But it's P21 with some additional modifications. Honestly, everyone just gave up at about that point.

Yeah man! The most popular HBA doesnt work with FreeNAS 11, I hope they fixed this soon! I just built a new one, loaded with FreeNAS 11 U5 and the 9207 HBA and it doesnt last 5 minutes before it degrades the pool. I am using 3TB Ultrastars and a Intel S3500 SSD. It fails 1 Ultrastar and the Intel every time.
FreeNAS 9 seems to work fine.

My HBAs are on 20.00.07 firmware and the driver in FreeNAS 11 is 21. Does not seem to work well together.

Would a LSI 9300 work any better? Anyone tried that? I have some of those from my vSAN nodes. I need to try it.

Tons of people are using all sorts of LSI SAS2 controllers. You must have hit a very weird edge case, probably related to whatever disks you're using.
