Couple questions about IBM M1015 card

I have one coming tomorrow flashed to IT mode. My case has 8 hot swap bays with SAS backplane. Can I use 2 sas to sas cables from card to backplane?

Also backplane has L2C plug. Not sure what that is and where to plug the other end at?

The SAS cables should already carry the signalling for enclosure management/disk monitoring. Unfortunately, FreeNAS won't allow you to do anything useful with whatever capabilities your system has (including drive failed LEDs).
